Aerial weed spray set to be applied on Craig Mountain WMA in November
Idaho Fish and Game is working to do our part in managing the landscape for noxious weeds and improving habitat on Craig Mountain Wildlife Management Area. An aerial spray application is planned for November 4th to November 9th, 2020 in the Billy Creek and Lime Point areas of Craig Mt, within the Craig Mt Wildlife Management Area. These sprays are intended to target Whitetop, Starthistle, Cheatgrass and other noxious weeds on Idaho Department of Fish and Game property.
Whitetop (Hoary Cress)
Yellow-starthistle
Although the project dates are between the two mule deer controlled hunts for unit 11, there is a possibility that adverse weather may push the project back further into November. If this is the case, it may result in disruption to some who planned to hunt in this area. Please refer to the map below showing the project area. The Department will place signs at access sites into this area, warning the public of the operation. Press releases will be posted at the beginning and ending of the project.
