NC DMVA Announces Military Spouse Appreciation Day

Raleigh - The NC Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (NC DMVA) announced this week, a Military Spouse Appreciation day that will honor the Military spouses around us who have the greatest impact on our lives and our military communities.  It's our mission to salute the wives, husbands, mothers, and fathers, who played an important role in their families; while their love ones answered the call and sacrificed for our country. 

This year, the NC DMVA along with our host organizations, Contemporary Art Museum (CAM) of Raleigh, Western Governors University, Humana, Carolina Small Business Development Fund and the American Legion Auxiliary will honor Military Spouse from across the state of North Carolina at the Military Spouse Appreciation Day event at CAM Raleigh.

The event highlight will pay tribute by awarding a plaque to a NC DMVA Military Spouse of the Year, 15 Outstanding Combat Female Veteran of NC and 9 NC DMVA Military Spouse recipients. Participants and guest speakers include: First Lady of NC, Kristin Cooper; NC National Guard Brigadier General Allen Boyette; Co-CEO & Cofounder of R. Riveter, Cameron Cruse; President & Founder of CFVFU, Sandra G. Robinson; and ABC11 News Anchor, Tisha M. Powell.

The North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, looks forward to hosting our honorees, their families and all who wish to attend.  We owe a solemn debt to our veterans and the sacrifices made by military families.
