House Democrats Work to Fund Government, Vote to Hold Trump Administration Accountable
On Tuesday, the House voted to hold the Trump Administration accountable for its continued pattern of stonewalling and obstruction. The resolution we passed this week would allow Committee Chairs to go before a federal judge to enforce subpoenas that have been ignored by the Administration, ensuring we can get information and testimony and provide the facts to the American people. The President has been engaged in the biggest cover-up in history, and House Democrats are determined to provide the truth to the public.
Lastly, House Democrats are holding a Health Care Weekend of Action. I hosted a roundtable yesterday with Congressman Brown to discuss health care disparities and how House Democrats are working to improve access to health care and bring down the prices. Since taking the Majority, we have taken action to defend the Affordable Care Act and passed ten bills to expand access to quality, affordable care and address the skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs. I strongly urge Senate Republicans to take up and pass these bills. Committees are holding additional hearings on this issue, and I look forward to bringing additional legislation to the Floor to address this top concern of Americans.
