Angola, Hungary strengthen parliamentary ties
Luanda, ANGOLA, December 19 - Parliaments of Angola and Hungary want to strengthen bilateral relations from next year, said the European nation ambassador, Zsolt Maris. ,
The diplomat said so after meeting with chairperson of the Commission for Foreign Relations, International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Abroad, Josefina Pitra Diakite held Wednesday in Luanda.
The two interlocutors discussed the state of relations between the two countries in several areas.
Hungary reopened its embassy in Luanda 2017.
Zsolt Maris defended steps toward the re-launch of parliamentary cooperation.
He also stressed the fact of the two countries to have signed agreements in the fields of culture and diplomacy.
Among the benefits of bilateral cooperation, the diplomat mentioned the scholarships his country offered to Angola in various fields.
The Hungarian Government has granted 20 free scholarships to Angolan university students since 2017, adding that the number may increase each year should the need arises.
