Norway awaits first visit by Angolan statesman

Today, as part of a few hours' travel to Angola, the Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, invited President João Lourenço to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Norway on a date to be agreed.
In 2009 and 2011, similar invitations were made to then-President José Eduardo dos Santos, but did not materialize.
In the final communiqué of today's meeting behind closed doors, the two heads of government acknowledged the progress made in the existing cooperation and pledged to reinforce it, respecting the territorial integrity of Angola and Norway.
The Norwegian prime minister expressed satisfaction with the efforts made by the Angolan Government to provide a more attractive business environment that would facilitate the mobilization of foreign companies and the promotion of international investment.
She highlighted the fact that her country was chosen to benefit from the exemption of entry visas in Angola.
