Gazprom Neft’s direct aviation fuel sales in Russia are up 13 percent year-on-year

Gazpromneft-Aero, operator of the Gazprom Neft aviation refuelling business, has retained its market-leading position in terms of direct sales on Russia’s domestic aviation refuelling market in 9M 2018, increasing "wing-tip" refuelling volumes by 13 percent to more than two million tonnes. Total sales of aviation fuels increased by nine percent, to more than 2.8 million tonnes.

International wing-tip refuelling increased 18 percent year-on-year, to 168,000 tonnes. The company’s international network expanded to now cover 257 airports throughout 66 countries worldwide.

Gazprom Neft continues developing the quality of its aviation refuelling business, investing RUB770 million in Gazpromneft-Aero projects in 2018, with funds allocated to implementing automated production management and commercial processes, and modernising refuelling complexes in line with international standards.

Vladimir Egorov, CEO, Gazpromneft-Aero, commented: «The aviation industry has shown a positive trend throughout 2018. According to Rosaviatsia (the Federal Air Transport Agency) data, passenger traffic at Russian airports is up nine percent which, in turn, has had a positive impact on sales of aviation fuel. The corresponding growth in sales volumes — in the market, overall, and at Gazpromneft-Aero, in particular — gives us reason to believe total fuel sales in Russia could, by the end of the year, return to the level of 2014. Added to which, our results have been achieved not just through the positive market environment, but also through consistent work on developing cooperation with air carriers and aviation fuel suppliers on international markets.»
