HARTING's MICA® With WLAN And Mobile Communications

HARTING Technology Group worked with partner companies PCO and nemetris on the CeMAT Logistics 4.0 hub.

HONG KONG , HONG KONG, CHINA , November 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- HARTING Technology Group worked with partner companies PCO and nemetris on the CeMAT Logistics 4.0 hub on May 8, 2018, to demonstrate how to use the combined supply chain of edge computing and the latest RFID technology to collect and analyze operational, status and system data. The CeMAT Logistics Trade Show is part of the Hannover Messe, the world's leading industrial trade fair held in Hanover from April 23rd to 27th, 2018.

Logistics material handling systems benefit from new and innovative solutions from the integrated industry. HARTING's MICA® edge computing system is the perfect partner. Robust design, modular hardware kits and an open software architecture for the microcomputer impressed the judges of the 2016 Hermes AWARD, and MICA® received this award. Since then, HARTING has created a user organization in the form of MICA network, which currently consists of 27 companies in the areas of system integration, software and hardware development using MICA® to complete the Industry 4.0 solution. For example, two partner companies PCO and Nemetris use MICA® as their RFID reader with edge computing capabilities in their logistics solutions.
Container management and tool recognition supporting AutoID

The PCO demonstrates a practical production order process in which the PCO integration layer plays a key role in the integration and interaction of different systems. For example, container management (mobile handsets) and tool identification (fixed on the device) that support auto-ID can be displayed on the Internet and along with the machine, process, and production order data. Predictive maintenance can also be achieved by adding database-based process data storage.

Synchronous System (JIS) software for flexible and efficient production management

The sequencing system (JIS) solution provided by Nemetris is closely linked to production and maps the complete sequencing process, including long-term agreement purchase orders from electronic data interchange (EDI) through sequencing and just-in-time (JIT) production management, traceability to shipping and execution. The Nemetris solution is modular and seamlessly integrated into existing infrastructure. On the one hand, it ensures lean and smooth handling and enables the batch production of single-size products. On the other hand, all data is retained in one system for complete traceability.

These two applications have been on display at the Logistics 4.0 hub of Hall 24. HARTING also introduced the latest MICA® derivative models that integrate RFID with WLAN and mobile communications in one device. In addition, HARTING also held a specialist day on the theme of Logistics Industry 4.0 at CeMAT Speakers Corner and MICA.
