Angolan Head of State returns home

Luanda, ANGOLA, November 26 - President João Lourenço returned on Sunday afternoon to Luanda, after having made a three-day state visit to Portugal, considered a decisive step in the materialisation of the strategic and privileged partnership between the two countries.,

In Luanda, the Head of State received warm greetings from the Vice-President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, the governor of Luanda Province, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, and some members of government.

Accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, and a delegation that included businesspeople, João Lourenço travelled to the cities of Lisbon and OPorto, and was received by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and the Prime Minister, António Costa.

The Angolan statesman held press conferences, attended a Business Forum and met with Angolan students and representatives of the Angolan community residing in Portugal, as well as granted audience to Portuguese political leaders and businesspersons.

In the final communiqué, the governmental delegations of Angola and Portugal considered that the visit of President João Lourenço to Portugal was of high political significance, reflected on the meetings between the heads of State of the two countries.
