Lantronix Announces General Availability of XPort® EDGE, the First Embedded Ethernet Gateway Offered in the Market-Leading XPort Family

MUNICH, Germany, Nov. 12, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lantronix, Inc. (the “Company”) (NASDAQ: LTRX), a global provider of secure data access and management solutions for the industrial Internet of Things (IoT), today announced the general availability of its XPort® EDGE embedded ethernet IoT gateway.
Since its introduction, the XPort serial to Ethernet device server has been a market leading module used by OEMs to easily add reliable network connectivity to industrial devices. To date, millions of IoT enabled devices have been deployed in the market using XPort, and every year that number grows by hundreds of thousands of units. XPort EDGE, the latest innovation from Lantronix, brings a new level of performance, enhanced security, pre-integrated device management capability and cloud connectivity to this popular platform, making it the first true wired IoT gateway in the industry in an easy to deploy RJ45 connector form factor.

º Secure Network Attach (EAPOL) for authenticated access to network switch ports - One-to-many connectivity orchestrating communication with multiple applications using multiple networking protocols for any device having a serial port (UART)

º Pre-integration with Lantronix MACH10® IoT platform, including support for Lantronix Gateway Central and MACH10® Global Device Manager - Patented XPort form factor with integrated PHY and Magnetics in an RJ45 connector
Key applications for XPort EDGE include industrial automation, such as machine control, industrial terminal and remote controls, connected weighing scales, building automation, and smart building equipment such as connected doors and lighting controls. Other potential use cases include retail point‑of‑sale terminals, gaming machines, telematics control units, and medical equipment such as defibrillators and urology monitors.
Development Kit Availability
The XPort EDGE modules and development kit are now available for evaluation and testing. The evaluation kit includes one XPort EDGE embedded Ethernet gateway and one XPort EDGE evaluation board, 30-day free trial of Lantronix Gateway Central, our secure cloud-based device management service and Lantronix’s full library of documentation and examples.
