Head of State visits Cazenga Training Center

Luanda, ANGOLA, November 12 - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, learned Monday about the functioning of Cazenga Vocational Training Center in Luanda, with the capacity to train 1,000 technicians annually in 18 specialties.,

The center's mission is to train national manpower, focusing on the improvement of technical skills, in modalities such as music, languages, mechanics, plumbing, welding, refrigeration, fashion design, among others.

First of its kind in the country, created in 1971, the institution was out of action for more than a decade due to the civil war. It was reopened in 1999.

During this visit, which lasted approximately one and a half hour, the President of the Republic, who also learned about the operation of the national vocational training system, was accompanied by ministerial departments and local authorities.

João Lourenço traveled to the areas of joinery, welding, refrigeration, cutting / sewing and auto mechanics, having talked with the trainees and trainers.

Still in Cazenga, the President of the Republic visited an exhibition of products made by students from the different professional training centers in Luanda, assigned to the National Institute of Vocational Training (INEFOP).

Speaking to journalist  at the end of the visit, the administrator of Cazenga, Albino da Conceição, said that the main objective of the visit of the Head of State was to assess what is done in terms of vocational training in that municipality.

In this context, the Qualifica application, a digital tool that offers more than 3.000 courses at different levels of education, was launched on 27 August.
