Avaap PMO Recognized with the PMI Eric Jenett Project Management Award of Excellence
EDISON, N.J., Oct. 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Avaap, a leading provider of advisory, management consulting, and information technology services for organizations with electronic health record (EHR) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications, announced today the Executive Director of its Project Management Office (PMO), Brian Williamson, was recognized with the Project Management Institute Eric Jenett Project Management Award of Excellence. Williamson earned the award for contributions to the project management profession, including the creation of the Avaap Delivery Methodology (ADM), a standards-based enterprise software delivery method that encompasses the entire project, program, and portfolio lifecycle.
The PMI Eric Jenett Project Management Award of Excellence is an annual award that honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the project management profession or its practice through leadership, technical project management, and strategic and business management acumen. Eligible recipients must demonstrate superior performance in project management practices, exceptional organizational results, and a positive impact on society.
“Receiving the prestigious Eric Jenett Project Management Award of Excellence is tremendous validation of the work done by Avaap leadership and the delivery team,” said Avaap Founder and CEO Dhiraj Shah. “This accolade reflects the commitment and drive of our PMO to deliver innovative and exceptional client service and results. Brian’s contributions further underline the strategic importance of an experienced systems integrator as well as the significant and lasting contribution to the project management profession."
Avaap’s delivery methodology is a client-centric method, specifically designed to be highly flexible and robust, focused on delivering value, benefits, and solid return on the strategic investment in enterprise software. The methodology goes beyond the traditional consulting model, moving client organizations to fully trained and operationalized businesses.
ADM is specifically designed to address complex business scenarios including mergers, acquisitions, and divestures; enterprise transformations; turnarounds; and launching new and innovate business models. The benefit is that organizations can start their Conference Room Pilot (CRP) with a nearly configured system, versus a generic shell compared to competitive approaches. This has reduced the cost of typical three-suite ERP implementation by almost one-third, while delivering the solution on time, and at or below budget.
In addition to work on the Avaap Delivery Methodology, Williamson has published and edited several books, along with multiple articles which demonstrate innovation across the continuum of portfolio, program, project, and requirements management.
“My primary goal was to establish a methodology for implementing enterprise software that is fully aligned to the PMI standards and practices to ensure clients realize the value and benefits from their strategic investment in enterprise software,” said award recipient and PMI member Brian Williamson. “The Eric Jenett Project Management Award of Excellence is the highest honor for individuals who claim project management as their profession and I’m thrilled to receive the recognition and serve as an example of success for the next generation of project managers.”
