CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, USA, October 4, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- On October 6th, the Foundation for a Drug-Free World (FDFW), is holding its third annual “Night for a Drug-Free World” concert at the Fort Harrison in Clearwater. All proceeds benefit FDFW, providing educational materials to at-risk youth at no cost. The star-studded event features Tampa Bay performers Jonathan Miller and Hana-Li. There will be dancing, refreshments, and complimentary valet parking.

“Since the 1960s, drugs have been popularized by the music industry and mass media,” said Julieta Santagostino, the President of FDFW’s Florida Chapter. “Although, drugs have been made to seem glamorous, ‘cool’, safe or ‘no big deal,’ you can have fun without drugs and without risking your life and future.” FDFW “Truth About Drugs” materials notes that seven out of ten teenagers have been offered an illegal drug. Those who don’t know the truth about drugs are vulnerable to making decisions that can negatively impact their lives forever.

“The Foundation for a Drug-Free World is attacking the drug problem head on, getting the facts to parents, educators, and kids to keep them drug free. While music may have been used to spread falsehoods, it can also be used to forward a life-saving, beneficial message, and the truth about drugs – thus the inception of the annual
‘Night for a Drug Free World’ music concerts,” said Santagostino.

Complimentary Truth About Drugs booklets and DVDs will be available to concert attendees so that they can get the facts, and use those facts to keep themselves and others drug free. Studies have shown that teenagers whose parents talk to them about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs.

“The simple truth is that drugs destroy lives, and those who do not know the truth about drugs can fall victim to drug dealers and peer pressure,” says Julieta Santagostino. “Our campaign shatters the lies and empowers everyone, especially youth, to make the right decisions and we work hard every day to get this information out to everyone we can.”

General Admission tickets are $20; VIP Seating is $40. All proceeds benefit Foundation for a Drug-Free World. Cocktail attire. RSVP to (727) 467-6962 or info.fl@drugfreeworld.org.
