The Federal Circuit hears arguments outside Washington, D.C., as part of its nationwide jurisdiction and statutory requirement to provide reasonable opportunities for citizens to appear before the court. In addition to John Marshall, the Court will hear arguments at other Chicago law schools and at the federal courthouse. “We are honored to be chosen to host the nation’s de facto patent appeals court. It is a testament to the continued prominence of our intellectual property program for nearly 80 years. I look forward to moderating what promises to be a lively and informative discussion.” Lim said.

John Marshall’s Intellectual Property Law program was ranked #15 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 Best Graduate Schools.
