Executive seeks voluntary law consensus

Luanda, ANGOLA, September 8 - The Executive continues to promote the search for consensus through public consultation aimed at completing voluntary draft law that ensure regulation of activity to promote social solidarity.,

 

 

The information was released by the legal advisor, administrative modernisation and exchange of the Vice President’s Office, Dionísio Manuel da Fonseca.

 

Dionísio da Fonseca was speaking at a workshop on "Challenges for volunteering in the 21st century", held Friday in Luanda.

 

The event was sponsored by Catholic University, to mark the 10th anniversary of Salesian volunteers, opened on Monday.

 

In the presence of the Vice President, Bornito de Sousa, Dionísio da Fonseca said that the bill aims at the legal recognition of volunteering.

 

The move includes the consecration of rights and duties of the volunteer and regulate the relationship among promoting entities.

 

Under the draft law, he said, volunteering is unpaid activity that benefit the other people, families and communities.

 

The official said that the national development plan 2018 2022 foresees the support reaching an average of 23 projects and youth volunteer initiatives per year.

 

Dionisio Fonseca said that the project on the national policy of volunteer suggests promotion of practice of voluntary actions by citizens, public and private entities with a view to achieving the wellbeing and national development.

 

The dean of the Catholic University, José Vicente Cacuchi, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to promote volunteering.
