Hosted by the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, the 2018 Georgia Legislative Policy Forum brings 16 state and national experts from the private sector and public policy arena to Atlanta to highlight innovation and transformation that Georgia's leaders can embrace.
"The Georgia Public Policy Foundation has hosted the Georgia Legislative Policy Forum since 2010, when it was the harbinger of criminal justice reform," said Kyle Wingfield, president of the Foundation.
"This event is a must for Georgia policymakers and legislators, candidates, citizens and media interested in practical, commonsense lessons for success across the state, for the state and by the state."
The daylong event includes sessions on health care (including certificate of need), education and pension reform. Among the day's speakers: former HHS Secretary Tom Price and Grady Health System CEO John Haupert.
The luncheon keynote speaker is Chuck Reed, two-time mayor of San Jose, Calif., who led comprehensive pension reforms in America's 10th-largest city; the morning keynote speaker is Judge Steven C. Teske, Chief Judge of the Juvenile Court in the Clayton Judicial Circuit and a member of the Georgia Council on Criminal Justice Reform.
