DoD Announces the Return of the USNS Comfort to the Western Hemisphere This Fall

DOD announces the return of the USNS Comfort to the Western hemisphere this fall. This marks the sixth hospital ship deployment to the region since 2007 and reflects the United States’ steadfast commitment of friendship and solidarity with the Americas. Working with partner nations, the hospital ship will provide life-saving treatment and medical care to thousands.

U.S. service members and medical professionals will work alongside regional partners to support ongoing humanitarian response efforts, to include addressing the impacts of the Venezuelan humanitarian crisis. Working with our partners in Colombia and elsewhere, the hospital ship teams will provide much-needed medical assistance, relieving the pressure of increased population flows on partner national health systems.
