Addressing a 43rd meeting opening ceremony of the SADC Parliamentary Forum on Monday in Luanda, the Angolan Statesman urged Zimbabwe's political authors to respect for the Constitution.
João Lourenço spoke of the need to take advantage of the only legitimate possibility it affords to come to power, the elections.
"We strongly condemn this cowardly, criminal and undemocratic act," he said.
In his speech, President João Lourenço encouraged the Zimbabweans to stand firm and determined in the holding of the elections on planned date, 30 July.
As for Ethiopia, although it is not member of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Head of State warned that such act should undermine democracy in a country hosting the African Union (AU) headquarters.
In his speech, the Chairperson of SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation spoke of the region's need to focus on its industrialisation, with a view to improving the use of its natural resources.
Meanwhile, he said that it was essential to redefine priorities at the SADC level.
The Head of State expressed Angola's support for transforming the Parliamentary Forum into a regional Parliament.
On the common agenda of SADC, a document which directs the integration of the organisation, João Lourenço defended the involvement of all the peoples of the region.
As for the situation in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Lesotho and Madagascar, the President said that the organisation is closely monitoring a scenario that "fortunately tends to return to normal".
