DENVER, CO, USA, April 2, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The World Food Bank is pleased to announce that our Founder and CEO Richard Lackey has been appointed to the USAID Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid (ACVFA), a nonpartisan committee established to link USAID leadership to private companies and organizations working in foreign development and humanitarian aid overseas.

Mr. Lackey was invited to join the ACVFA by Mark Green, the Administrator of USAID. He will attend his first committee meeting in Washington, D.C. on May 2nd.

Mr. Lackey joins this committee with representatives from diverse sectors, who will work together to provide USAID with data, feedback, and counsel on development issues and foreign assistance, as well as foster public interest in the field of voluntary foreign aid and private voluntary organization activities.

“I am honored to be appointed by Mr. Green to the USAID Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid. I look forward to the opportunity to not only share information about the work we are doing at the World Food Bank to resolve hunger through market-driven solutions, but also to be part of a committee that is shaping how our country approaches international development work,” said Mr. Lackey. “Through my involvement, I hope to bring new insight and perspective on ways that the private sector can elevate and enhance the committee’s goal of making the world a better, safer place for all people.”

The ACVFA was established by Presidential directive after World War II to serve as a link between the U.S. Government and private voluntary organizations active in humanitarian assistance and development work overseas.
