Alexander Scourby No 1 Bible Narrator. Quote from article: Scourby was meticulous in his research and preparation. While most narrators try to ``act”, raising and lowering their voices Scourby simply changed the rhythm slightly. He was one of a kind with an X quality.
ible Gateway News ranked Scourby You Bible the No. 1 Bible App for 2018
A recent poll by Bible Gateway News of 1000 Bible App Users, ranked the Scourby You Bible No.1 and ranked Alexander Scourby the best Bible narrator for 2018
Application software for the iPhone was created in 2008 and simply called an “App”, short for “application”. I remember getting my first Bible App, narrated by Alexander Scourby, on my new iPhone. Scourby was the first person ever to record a KJV audio Bible for long-play records in the 1950’s. The Scourby Bible App was the first Bible App to run on the new iPhone Bible-Gateway. It was a simple App with text and audio, but users had to manually scroll the text to keep up with the audio. This new "Bible-Gateway" was the beginning of the "reading and hearing" of the Word of God by the masses.
Fast forward to 2017, Pope Francis made a comparison between Bible reading and cell phone reading when he said the following in St. Peters square: “Christians should care about reading God’s messages in the Bible as much as they care about checking their cellphone messages.” The Pope asked, “What would happen if we turn around to get our Bible like we turn around when we forget our cellphones.” “If we read our Bible verses like we read our cellphone messages?” The answer? Probably "change the World." (Click to Read Popes Full Statement)
Today there are numerous Bible Apps in the marketplace. However, the best one’s auto scrolls the text and audio that are synced together. A "Bi-Modal" presentation, with text and audio synced together, is a powerful way for Bible Study. In using two sensory inputs in the brain, one for reading and one for hearing, studies have shown that comprehension, understanding and retention are all dramatically increase…"Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this Prophecy, and keep the things which are written therein, for the time is at hand"...(Revelations 3:1) The important three words in the above verse are "reading, hearing and keeping". Today, there are tens of millions of Christians who are now hearing and reading the Word using a Bible App. There is no doubt, for most Christians in 2018, a Bible app on their smart phone is a must, and they won't leave home without one.
Bible Gateway's News observation was that the Pope’s message was profound. The Pope recognized that everyone carries cell-phones and what if they used the Bible as much as they used their cellphones. Millions have Bible Apps on their cellphones and Bible Gate News wanted to know what Bible App is the Best in 2018? According to Bible Gateway News, they decided to research that question.
