Minister reiterates strengthening of national defence system

With such move, the National Defence Ministry hopes that the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) become more and more capable to fulfil their missions and constitutional duties.
According to the Defence minister, Salviano Sequeira, who spoke last Friday, in Luanda, at the New Year greetings ceremony with his department staffs, the permanent preparation of the FAA is a component of the modernisation programme.
“It is necessary to acquire indispensable means and equipment (...)”, stressed the minister, adding that there is also the need to conserve well the operational means, through regular servicing.
The minister assured that the Defence ministry will hold bilateral contacts with the neighbouring countries with the aim to guarantee major security and tranquillity at the borders.
The defence minister also expressed his satisfaction at the political, economic and social reforms being implemented by the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief, João Lourenço, who has been focussing on promoting competent Angolan cadres.
