CASA-CE coalition commends President's visit to Sanatorium Hospital
ANGOP has learnt that the said hospital was built over 49 years ago and already has a degraded infrastructure, thus prompting the new government to announce its rehabilitation and expansion.
“We applaud the initiative of the President of the Republic in visiting the Sanatorium Hospital of Luanda”, said the politician when speaking at the Third Ordinary Plenary Session of the National Assembly (Parliament), a gathering that was chaired by the Parliament Speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
He said the CASA-CE coalition has taken good note of the posture of the Head of State, for declaring also a serious fight against corruption and appealing for the repatriation of Angolan moneys illegally taken from the country and placed in foreign banks.
In his political declaration at the National Assembly, André Mendes de Carvalho also hailed the fact that the government has been investing in economic undertakings in the northern province (enclave) of Cabinda, reminding, however that the region needs to enjoy a special status.
On the other hand, Estevão Cachiungo, from the opposition UNITA party, reaffirmed the necessity for true separation of powers in a democratic and law-abiding state, adding that the justice sector can only be better administered if it stops being “a hostage of any type of other powers”.
He then stressed that the challenge of UNITA in the National Assembly is to help Angolans regain their citizenship capacity.
