Insightful Visionaries partners with the Eastern Chapter of the Blinded Veterans Association of North Carolina for a themed cruise honoring Veterans Day.

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA, USA, November 2, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Insightful Visionaries, a nonprofit organization seeking to enhance and empower the lives of the visually impaired in conjunction with the Eastern Chapter of the Blinded Veterans Association of North Carolina www.insightfulvisionaries.org, will hold the first annual celebration of North Carolina’s home town heroes. All military veterans and their significant others are invited. The event will be held at the Garner Performing Arts Center in Garner North Carolina. Our heroes and guests will be entertained with a cruise themed event by local and veteran performing artists. A portion of the proceeds from the event will aid the Blinded Veterans Association to continue its worthwhile cause in assisting blind veterans in receiving Veterans Administration benefits and rebuilding their lives.
Lee Davis is the President of the Eastern Chapter of the Blinded Veterans Association of North Carolina (BVA). www.ncrgbva.org The BVA is an organization that was founded by 100 blind veterans in Avon, Connecticut returning from World War II, seeking to help other blind veterans overcome their blindness and receive the benefits they needed. Today the organization has membership across all 50 states and Puerto Rico, and they continue to help blinded veterans. BVA works to connect veterans both young and old, increase knowledge about technology available for the blind, and connect individuals with the rehab services and materials they need.
Insightful Visionaries was founded by Carolyn Marshall Covington, a 40-year veteran of the Beauty & Entertainment Industry, who has become visually impaired with Retinitis Pigmentosa. The mission of this 501©3 organization is to facilitate the independence of the blind and visually impaired community. The organization helps to seek equal employment opportunities, transportation assistance, training, counseling, beauty & barber , personal grooming, and hygiene services to help build self-confidence.

Insightful Visionaries has teamed up with the Eastern Chapter of The Blinded Veterans Association to present an “Outta Sight Cruise” (themed celebration). This event is a salute to all veterans who have served our country. The event will be held at the Garner Performing Arts Center in Garner NC located at 742 W. Garner Road.

Reception on the upper deck with Caribbean music, hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Steff and drinks.
Captain Lee Davis and Co-Captain Carolyn Marshall Covington will welcome everyone aboard and lay down the laws of the sea.
The Charity Casino will open for all you LUCKY Boy’s, 21 and up only. As we set sail around 7:00 and the Cruise directors MC Sunshine and Pam Smith will escort you to the Gospel lounge where BVA member Cornell Cutts and Tonya Sailor will open for the evening's featured entertainment, Maurice “Man” Lauchner.

Lauchner is one of the most soulful and distinctive contemporary voices in inspirational music. Maurice “Man” Lauchner offers a refreshing interpretation of God’s love through song. His broad vocal range and acting abilities have afforded him opportunities to perform throughout the U.S. and abroad. He has lent his vocal and acting talents to “The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till”, and Carly Simon’s Moonlight Serenade on the Queen Mary (Background Vocals). His most recent credits include featured performances with Tyler Perry’s “Madea Gets a Job”, “The Haves & the Have Nots”, “Aunt Bam’s Place”, and “A Madea’s Christmas.” He is currently on tour with stage play Madea On the Run and recently completed his first CD, “Songs & Hymns from The Heart”.

At 7:45 you are invited to the Flamingo Lounge for Latin Dance Lessons with Rachel Harder and a performance by the Evianne Ballroom Studio.

At the 8 o’clock hour we will Salute the Men and women who sacrificed their lives for our country. The 2016 Blind Idol and actress Charity Hampton of Rural Hill N.C. will serenade the audience with “God Bless America” as Vernon Richmond, the BVA Director of District 3 Mid-Atlantic Regional Group, will address the Veterans, friends and families. Followed by Ira Knight presents “Words of Inspiration from a Veterans Perspective”.
On the lower deck to the Captain's Ballroom, we meet up with Marilyn Monroe (Charity Hampton) who always has a special place in every man’s heart and she will mesmerize you with her performance of “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” accompanied by the Evianne Dancers, followed by a Motown styled performance in the Boom Boom Room featuring the Amazing Soulful sounds of Tish Songbird, The Artist and her music ensemble.

From 9 pm until 10 Dance the night away with BVA member Marvin Lee as DJ Lee and Nephew Slim.
