Gazprom and Russian Construction Ministry sign long-term Agreement

Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, and Mikhail Men, Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, today signed a Cooperation Agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2017.
The document aims to advance cooperation between the parties and to further improve the Company’s investment efficiency. The Agreement envisages long-term collaboration and may serve as the basis for annual action plans (Roadmaps).
The arrangements provide for, among other things, the introduction of information modeling technologies in the field of industrial and civil engineering, the streamlining of the technical regulation and standardization system in the construction industry, and the improvement of the legislative framework for the construction and overhauling of gas trunklines.
Background
In June 2016, Gazprom and the Russian Construction Ministry signed the action plan (Roadmap) for cooperation with the purpose of implementing the Innovative Development Strategy for the domestic construction sector and ensuring the efficiency of the Company's investment activities.
In 2016, Gazprom’s representatives joined the Expert Council under the Russian Construction Ministry, as well as the Working Group for the adoption of information modeling technologies in construction processes. The most common problems in Gazprom’s design documentation as pointed out by government experts were analyzed, categorized and classified, resulting in a register of typical problems and potential preventive measures.
