ECOTECH Helps Amity University Raise Awareness of Air Pollution and Mitigation Strategies
NOIDA, INDIA, May 19, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- In the lead-up to World Environment Day on 5 June, Amity University, India’s leading research and innovation driven private university, held a ground-breaking Environment Day workshop, focussing on air pollution sources and strategies for mitigation.
The Environment Day workshop held on 15 May, run in partnership with the Air Pollution Control Association and the National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), highlighted India’s commitment to addressing and combatting air pollutants that contribute to global warming and adversely impact climate change.
ECOTECH Managing Director, Nicholas Dal Sasso, shared the podium with distinguished scientists, researchers and leaders of Uttar Pradesh and India’s key environmental agencies including the Air Pollution Control Association, the National Environmental Science Academy (NESA) and the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB).
Nicholas gave an insightful presentation on the increasing risk of environmental audit in India and how power companies can use technology to reduce that risk.
Other key note speakers included Patrice Pischedda, 01dB APAC Director. Patrice provided delegates with an insightful perspective comparing noise and air pollution regulations and enforcement. Expert in noise and vibration monitoring, 01dB is the environmental stablemate of ECOTECH; together forming the Environmental Business Unit of ACOEM Group.
The day also celebrated the inauguration of a Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS) designed and installed by ECOTECH for the UPPCB to be located at the University. The CAAQMS will ensure that India’s most populous state, Uttar Pradesh, will have access to the most advanced air quality monitoring technology available and that Amity University will act as the epicentre for research that sets thresholds and targets for air pollutants.
ECOTECH’s close working relationship with Amity University and UPPCB is championed by Manoj Kumar, International Business Development Manager for ECOTECH in India and the Middle East. Manoj has been instrumental in forging the collaborative efforts of ECOTECH and Amity University. Relationships like this and ECOTECH’s direct presence in the Indian market underpin and demonstrates its long-term commitment to the region and its institutions.
