mhca & OPEN MINDS To Host National Innovation Incubator On Innovative Strategies For Developing & Managing An Agile Workforce

Sessions to feature case studies on successful workforce management strategies from Centerstone Kentucky & Necco

/EINPresswire.com/ -- GETTYSBURG, PA--(Marketwired - May 08, 2017) - For many organizations, especially in the health and human services marketplace, most of the expenses and investments lie in human capital. Recently, the industry has seen difficulty in managing the changing workforce and strategies for recruitment and retention. To support organizations finding this change in workforce management challenging, OPEN MINDS and mhca, formerly Mental Health Corporations of America, have collaborated to host a half-day event for provider organizations nationwide. mhca's second quarterly member conference will kick-off with a half-day Innovation Incubator on May 16 at the Westin Cincinnati in Ohio. This half day meeting will focus on staffing for health and human services and strategies for developing an agile workforce.

The incubator will kick-off with an executive briefing from OPEN MINDS chief executive officer, Monica E. Oss, on new developments in talent management and the changing world of talent competition and workforce management. Following Ms. Oss' update, attendees will hear innovative strategies for recruitment, retention, and workforce management being implemented at Centerstone Kentucky from Kim Horn, Talent Acquisition Director, and Paul Harmelin, Campus Recruiter/Retention Specialist at Centerstone Kentucky. Necco's Chief Executive Officer, Beau Necco; Chief Clinical Officer, Pamela Priddy, M.Ed., LPCC; and Chief People Officer, Rob Goodwin, will be the third featured speakers of the event, sharing the strategies her team is implementing to improve workforce management. The day will conclude with an interactive discussion with attendees on the challenges of talent competition and inventive strategies being utilized for recruitment, retention, and workforce management.

"Managing human capital has becoming increasingly challenging in health and human services with almost half of employees now working remotely, and growing numbers of employees becoming project-based and working for multiple organizations. Organization in the health and human services field must recognize the importance of this investment in human capital and growing competition for talent," said Monica Oss, Chief Executive Officer at OPEN MINDS and the chair of mhca's National Innovation Incubator. "This is why we chose to focus this Innovation Incubator on innovative human resources practices and strategies for developing an agile workforce. This meeting aims to provide executives with innovative new practices and successful strategies for developing and retaining the right employees for their organization."
