The agreement, involving the adoption of Appriss' prescription monitoring program (PMP) solution, PMP AWARxE, is part of the initiative described in Governor Rick Snyder's Prescription Drug & Opioid Task Force. The partnership, first announced on October 2, 2016, will replace the current in-house Michigan Automated Prescription System (MAPS) and provide access to inter-state data sharing via PMP InterConnect and integration of PMP data within the clinician's electronic health record and pharmacy dispensing systems via Appriss Health's PMP Gateway.

Prescription Monitoring Programs (PMPs) are state-run programs that track the distribution of narcotics and other prescriptions for federally controlled substances. Appriss Health's PMP platform, PMP AWARxE, provides access to mandatory pharmacy reporting and offers secure accessibility to data across state lines.
