/EINPresswire.com/ -- KOFORIDUA, GHANA--(Marketwired - December 13, 2016) - Members of the media are invited to join more than 100 students, parents, farmers, officials from Akwadum Schools, the Koforidua Municipal and Regional Directors of Education, Chairman of the Akwadum Cluster of Schools, officials from Ghana Bamboo Bikes Initiative (GBBI) and Bright Generation Community Foundation (BGCF), as the African Bicycle Contribution Foundation (ABCF), a U.S.-based 501 (c)3 non-profit corporation, presents free, GBBI-made, Eco-Ride bamboo bicycles to 30 transport-dependent students, small farmers and healthcare workers, at the Akwadum School, in Koforidua, Ghana, on 15 December 2016, 10:00am - 12:00pm, GMT.

ABCF, which recently launched a global initiative to generate funding to distribute 2,500 free, bamboo bicycles in primarily rural areas of Ghana, over a five-year period, also distributed 30 of the same Eco-Ride-branded bicycles, to an initial group of students, farmers and healthcare workers, in September, in Accra and Kumasi.

In addition, ABCF, working in partnership with GBBI and BGCF, plans to establish a series of technology-facilitated, intercontinental workshops and seminars between students and entrepreneurs in Ghana, and their counterparts, in the U.S.

ABCF is also pursuing the institution of a "Sister City" relationship, between Kumasi and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the U.S., to facilitate trade channels for the more effective distribution and sale of the Eco-Ride bamboo bikes, across the U.S.
