Quaker Steak & Lube(R) Honors Military Service Men and Women on Veterans Day
/EINPresswire.com/ -- WESTLAKE, OH--(Marketwired - November 09, 2016) - The award-winning, family casual-dining restaurant Quaker Steak & Lube®, known for its Best Wings USA and more than 20 sauces, is honoring veteran and active duty service members with free or discounted meals on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at participating locations.
On November 11, anyone who is a veteran or currently serving in the armed forces can receive a complimentary or discounted meal of their choice by simply showing proof of service to their server prior to ordering their meal. Proof of service includes: U.S. Uniform Services Retired ID Card; Veterans Organization Card (i.e., American Legion, VFW); photograph in uniform; wearing uniform; DD214; or citation or commendation. Free meal selections vary by location and may include items up to a certain dollar amount or a special menu of select options from which to choose. Discounts also vary by location for military service men and women. Guests can contact their local Quaker Steak & Lube for information on the offer available in their area.
"It's our honor to have this opportunity to show those who have served, and are currently serving, how much we appreciate their sacrifice," said John Ponczoch, Senior Vice President of TravelCenters of America's TA Restaurant Group, which owns and franchises Quaker Steak & Lube. "It's beyond admirable for our service men and women to leave their homes and families to enlist in a military branch. It deserves recognition," he continued.
Quaker Steak & Lube will also honor our fallen military heroes with Fallen Soldiers Tables set up at participating locations. The Fallen Soldiers Table reminds all military service members and civilians of the sacrifice of life given by our troops in turn for peace and liberties. The Table is set with a white table cloth that signifies the purity of a soldier's intentions in the call to serve. There is a single red rose in a vase that represents the blood they shed for freedom, and a slice of lemon on a plate signifies the soldier's bitter fate. A salt shaker represents tears their families shed, and an inverted glass sits on the table, signifying they will no longer take a drink. A single, empty chair is placed at the table.
