What: Webinar on The Third Way: Funding Immigration Reform

When: Tuesday, November 15, 2016 2:00pm EST

Where: Online (send an email to info@immigranttaxgroup.org for an invite)

Why: The United States has attempted to establish sound immigration policies over 40 times since 1790. With the world’s transient population growing so fast the United States needs an efficient, fair, and sound process for dealing with undocumented immigrants—and the revenues to implement such a plan.

About The Third Way

Both mass citizenship and mass deportation are fiscally irresponsible. A ten-year renewable
Special Work Permit offers benefits and relieves American taxpayers of the unfair burden of paying for immigrant issues. This program creates revenue and jobs and accommodates those who come to the U.S. for financial opportunity.

The Special Work Permit is designed to transfer the responsibility for immigration costs to the people that are most affected. By taxing undocumented immigrants and their employers 5 percent each, with the employer being responsible for paying the I.R.S., revenue is generated. The funds will then be disbursed to states based on where the taxes were paid. The states working with local jurisdictions will have the responsibility to use these funds for education, health care, enforcing the rule of law, and other essential services.

“This program provides respect and dignity for workers, legality for employers and fairness to U.S. Taxpayers. We’ve worked to define common ground with this approach. It's just common sense to implement this program today—we all stand to benefit,” stated Mark Jason, Executive Director of the Immigrant Tax Inquiry Group.
