FullContact Receives EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Certification

Certification Reaffirms FullContact's Commitment to Data Protection and Customer Privacy

/EINPresswire.com/ -- FullContact, provider of the most powerful contact management platform for professionals and enterprises, today announced it has received the European Union (EU)-U.S. Privacy Shield Certification from the United States Department of Commerce. FullContact is among the first 200 organizations certified under the voluntary program, advancing the company's ongoing dedication to its users, customers and public data records globally.

Replacing the previously instilled Safe Harbor directive, the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield ensures the protection and legitimacy of data transfers from the EU as it requires U.S. companies to safeguard European citizens' personal data when transferred to the U.S. While joining the Privacy Shield Framework is voluntary, once an eligible organization makes the public commitment to comply it must then to adhere to industry-leading data privacy and security standards developed to ensure the rights of EU users are fully protected. Backed by continual 3rd party testing and certification, these requirements contemplate clear user choice, appropriate data storage and management practices, and privacy-focused policies and procedures.

"Complying with EU-U.S. Privacy Shield regulations is critical as FullContact continues to prioritize the expansion of our global footprint," said Bart Lorang, CEO and Co-Founder of FullContact. "As the leader in cloud-based contact management solution, privacy is of the utmost importance to our organization. The framework's purpose is to promote data privacy, and its statutes align with our mission to be transparent with our customers, clients and prospects."

"As one of the first participating companies in the Privacy Shield program, we are proud to help lead the global effort to ensure data privacy and security for all users worldwide," said David Brown, Vice President of Information Technology of FullContact. "Users' increasing concerns over the privacy and safety of their data is something that is top of mind at FullContact and the certification underscores our ongoing initiatives to ease these worries."

Currently, FullContact is used by millions of people through its free apps, enterprise customers and API platform partners. With the suite of consumer apps spanning iOS, Mac, Android, Gmail, and Web, FullContact's offerings support two-way sync between iCloud, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Exchange and multiple Google email accounts. In addition to the certification, FullContact will continue to abide by their privacy terms and conditions which can be found here: https://www.fullcontact.com/privacy/
