Target Kicks Off First Wind Power Partnership

Retailer Target recently announced that it will buy a portion of the energy produced by Starwood Energy Group's 211-megawatt Stephens Ranch Wind Project to offset 100% of the energy used at 60 of its Target stores throughout Texas. A company press release noted that "besides being a smart move for the environment, wind power makes financial sense."
