Graton Resort & Casino Presents Outdoor Fitness Course to Rohnert Park

City of Rohnert Park, Graton Resort & Casino and CBS EcoMedia Celebrate Fitness Trail Opening at Dorotea Park

/EINPresswire.com/ -- ROHNERT PARK, CA--(Marketwired - August 05, 2016) - Graton Resort & Casino has teamed up with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and CBS EcoMedia's WellnessAd program to donate and install the first and brand-new outdoor fitness path for the Rohnert Park community at Dorotea Park.

Thanks to funding from Graton Resort & Casino, Dorotea Park now features exercise stations along a walking path -- Rohnert Park's first par course, or trail of outdoor exercise equipment. The stations are designed to improve mobility and strength with activities such as push up bar, sit up bench, back extension bench, and more. The trail is expected to serve 5,000 people annually and offers the entire community -- from children's summer camp to senior citizens -- an array of fitness opportunities at Dorotea Park.

Today, the City of Rohnert Park is hosting a community celebration to mark the trail's opening and Graton Resort and Casino's continued support for Rohnert Park residents. This event will introduce local families to the new par course as well as encourage community-wide health and fitness.

"We are excited to add the outdoor fitness course to Dorotea Park," said Pamela Stafford, Rohnert Park Councilmember. "It is a wonderful opportunity for citizens to get fit and enjoy our beautiful park."

"We are proud to reinvest in our community with the addition of this wonderful fitness trail for the residents of Rohnert Park to enjoy," said Greg Sarris, Tribal Chairman of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, the Tribe that owns Graton Resort & Casino.

"We are thrilled to partner with CBS EcoMedia and Graton Resort & Casino to help bring this exciting new amenity to the citizens of Rohnert Park," said Barbara Tulipane, NRPA President and CEO. "Not only will the outdoor fitness path promote healthy living, it will connect residents to nature and one another -- a benefit of local parks everywhere."

"We're excited to complete another project with Graton Resort and Casino for the well-being of Rohnert Park families," said Paul Polizzotto, President and Founder of CBS EcoMedia. "The outdoor fitness trail will have a lasting positive impact on the health and wellness of this deserving community."

The company's mission is to harness the power of the advertising dollar to make tangible, quality of life improvements in communities nationwide. In 2010, after successfully partnering on a wide range of environmental projects, EcoMedia was acquired by CBS Corporation, exponentially scaling its reach across television, radio, interactive, and publishing media.

Through EcoMedia's patent-pending EcoAd, EducationAd, WellnessAd, Viewers to Volunteers, Volunteering with the Stars, and Charity Champions League advertising programs, national brands and local businesses provide millions of dollars in financial support to some of the nation's most effective nonprofit organizations, funding critical veterans', education, health and wellness, and environmental projects nationwide.
