Judicial Stay in Terrorism Case


/EINPresswire.com/ -- VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/29/16 -- The Supreme Court of British Columbia today stayed the proceedings against John Stuart Nuttall, 41, and Amanda Marie Korody, 33.

Last year, a jury found both guilty of conspiring to murder persons unknown, for the benefit of a terrorist group, contrary to s. 83.2 of the Criminal Code. They were also found guilty of making or having an explosive substance for the benefit of a terrorist group, contrary to s. 83.2.

The PPSC will be reviewing the decision in relation to an appeal.

Consent has been given by the PPSC on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada to the laying of informations pursuant to s. 810.011(1) terrorism peace bonds.
