Lollicup USA celebrates second anniversary of production in the US
CHINO, CA, UNITED STATES, June 27, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Lollicup USA is proudly celebrating two years since the grand opening of its Chino, CA manufacturing facility.
The plant, which features automated, high-capacity and high-speed German equipment, opened with only a small number of machines used to manufacture Karat® brand products.
Poli Chou, production manager at Lollicup USA, said the plant began operations in 2014 with two extruders, one PET thermoforming machine, three paper cup forming machines and one printer for custom printing products.
After two years, the company now has a bustling manufacturing facility; complete with over 100 plant workers and various types of machinery, including: two PET extruders, one PP extruder, five thermoforming machines, eight paper cup forming machines, one paper slitting machine, one paper punching machine and four printers for custom printing.
The company is also installing a brand new state-of-the-art Reifenhäuser extruder, which will replace the extruders currently in use and will increase production by 50 percent.
Since the opening of the plant, Lollicup has become a major contender in the food service packaging industry.
At the time of opening, Lollicup USA produced up to 365 million cups per year. At the end of 2015, Lollicup USA produced 960 million cups per year, and is very close to reaching 1 billion cups per year.
The company is also expanding its production capabilities by opening more manufacturing facilities and warehouses. Lollicup USA plans to open a manufacturing facility in Rockwall, TX in 2018. This building will be about 450,000 square-feet and is expected to begin construction later this summer.
