SANTA MONICA, CA, USA, June 23, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Academy award-winning actress and LE&RN Spokesperson Kathy Bates is hosting a fun-filled cocktail reception for top fundraisers at a Santa Monica restaurant the night before the 2nd annual CA Run/Walk to Fight Lymphedema & Lymphatic Diseases. Both events take place this weekend, with the reception on the evening of Saturday, June 25, and the Run/Walk on Sunday morning, June 26. Last year’s inaugural event was so popular that Ms. Bates agreed to host it again ahead of this year's Run/Walk. — William Repicci
Last year, standing before a roomful of supporters, Ms. Bates thanked the event’s sponsor, BSN medical, and told the excited crowd that she planned to see this affair grow year after year.
“It will take five valets to park all the cars,” Ms. Bates joked before thanking supporters for standing with LE&RN in the fight against lymphedema and lymphatic diseases. LE&RN Executive Director William Repicci noted the impact Ms. Bates’ efforts are having on advancing the cause of lymphatic research.
“The reception Kathy Bates is hosting is yet one more way she is galvanizing the movement,” Bill said. “But, since no one person constitutes a movement, the message of this event is that all of us need to step forward, make ourselves heard and help raise the funds needed to find the cures we seek.”
To attend the June 25th reception with Kathy Bates, sign up as a Runner/Walker for the June 26 Run/Walk. This year's top 10 fundraisers (minimum of $1,000 raised) will be invited to attend Kathy's get-together, hosted by LE&RN and BSN Medical (Premier National Sponsor).
