CORVALLIS, ORE., UNITED STATES, June 3, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- CORVALLIS, Ore. – Author A.E. Sullivan inspires youthful readers as she creates a story of encouragement and good manner in her children’s book, “The Truly Terrible C Word.”— Taylor Michaud, Acquisitions Editor, Tate Publishing
A story of helpfulness, inspiration, and awareness, “The Truly Terrible C Word” is a social issue, juvenile fiction about an elementary student who attempts to save an older kid from turning green by saying the C word.
“After having children, I started paying much closer attention to the words we commonly use as a society and felt horrified at the concepts we almost unconsciously inundate our children with. I can't say I really noticed words and the effect of words until I started reading aloud to my children when they were babies. I was bothered by society's casual use of damaging and hurtful language, even simple and common words. After two children and six years, I had to act,” shares Sullivan, when asked about the inspiration behind her book.
“’The Truly Terrible C Word’ is the first in the series aimed at empowering our children and empowering our society. It is a fun, over-the-top way to raise our awareness of potentially damaging language,” states Taylor Michaud, Acquisitions Editor for Tate Publishing.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Sullivan earned a Bachelor Degree from the University of California and Masters from Pepperdine University. In 2000, A.E. Sullivan is married to a wonderfully supportive husband and now has two vivacious and curious boys. The family has adopted two boxers from the Northwest Boxer Rescue, for which Sullivan is a contributing blog writer. She started her own company in 2003 and has had the privilege of working with many non-profit agencies supporting people with developmental disabilities, and is now using that expertise to support the country's Veteran community.
Sullivan is a fourth-generation native Californian with roots in this country tracing back to the late1600s. The family migrated to the Pacific Northwest five years ago to get back to nature and small communities. They fell in love with the area and enjoy hiking, kayaking, hitting the Coast and exploring tide pools.
