Malcolm Robertson, returning for a second season as part-time staff naturalist, has developed and will be delivering a number of complimentary slideshow presentations for lodge guests during the summer months, highlighting some of the wildlife and history of the park.

Also offered is two guided hikes, one at the nearby Cache Lake Historic Site and a family friendly scavenger adventure on our own Moose Trail, a great opportunity for children and parents to learn about some of the park's wildlife during a short hike starting from the lodge.

For guests looking to enhance their park experience, there are three daytrip excursions, one on Cache Lake and two on neighbouring Smoke and Canoe Lakes. These trips are available at an additional charge and accompanied by Malcolm, are ideal for guests looking to visit historic destinations and learn more about the history of the area, and on Canoe Lake, the life and times of artist Tom Thomson. There is also an option to join Malcolm on a tour of the park corridor by vehicle from gate to gate, and discover its history and highlights, as well as explore some unmarked trails.
