REALTORS(R) to Renovate El Cajon Home for Veteran

Volunteers, Partners to be Joined by Congressman Duncan Hunter for 'Rebuilding Together San Diego' Project

/EINPresswire.com/ -- SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - April 29, 2016) - Volunteers from the Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS® and its Housing Opportunities Committee will be working to repair and renovate the El Cajon home of Colleen Dixon, a Navy veteran, and single parent of six, this Saturday, April 30, for "Rebuilding Together San Diego."

Joining the volunteers to kick off the project will be Congressman Duncan Hunter, who represents California's 50th Congressional District, including East and North County San Diego.

Rebuilding Together San Diego is a nonprofit that provides critical repairs and renovations for low-income homeowners. SDAR sponsors this event annually, and dozens of volunteers are expected to be on site to assist with this project.

Housing Opportunity Committee (HOC) members first learned about Dixon's family through a presentation by Rebuilding Together San Diego in March. "Ms. Dixon's situation is unique in that she herself is a military veteran who continued to give by selflessly adopting five children, including three with special needs, who were in desperate need of a loving family," said Carla Farley, HOC Chair.
