Utility Industry Executive Bill Herdegen Joins Innovari as Chief Operating Officer

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - April 19, 2016) - William ("Bill") Herdegen III joins Interactive Energy Platform (IEP) developer Innovari as chief operating officer (COO). With nearly 40 years of utility experience, Herdegen will provide executive-management, customer service, and operational expertise as Innovari continues to expand its business globally.

"Operational excellence begins with a deep understanding of our customer -- the electric utility -- as well as our customer's customer," says Chris Hickman, CEO and president, Innovari. "Bill offers decades of direct experience, including responsibility for customer service, that will help improve our operations as we implement IEP programs with utilities and their customers globally."

Herdegen comes to Innovari from The Connecticut Light & Power Company (CL&P), a subsidiary of Northeast Utilities (doing business as Eversource CT), where he served as president and COO and led the operation and maintenance of electric power distribution, as well as emergency preparedness and response. He's held executive positions at Kansas City Power & Light, and served as COO for Laramore, Douglass and Popham, a utility-industry consulting firm. He began his utility career at Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) in Chicago.

/EINPresswire.com/ -- "I'm excited to join a team of utility experts and professionals that understands our industry and the unique challenges it faces," Herdegen says. "From Hickman's very first IEP conversation with me eight years ago, I have believed in this company and known that Innovari has created the first truly sustainable business model for demand-side capacity and distributed energy resource integration in the industry. Creating the technology, and also the business model, that provide a win-win-win for utilities, their customers, and their regulators is unique and difficult in our industry, but Innovari has done it. I look forward to helping our organization grow and serve utilities globally to improve how the world uses energy."

Innovari's Interactive Energy Platform connects utilities, their customers, and their communities to optimize grid performance and improve how the world uses energy. Innovari's solutions attack the electric grid's core problem -- the load duration curve -- unlocking access to affordable capacity that improves system utilization, electric reliability, and utility financial performance, while Innovari's non-profit, Plugged into Kids™, brings together utilities and their customers to help the children in their communities. By providing utilities with analytics, automation, and control over edge-of-grid capacity resources, Innovari enables two-way, verifiable automated demand side management (ADSM); dynamic load and phase balancing; renewable and distributed energy resources integration; and more.
