The herpes virus can be spread through a simple hug if there is an outbreak on skin that touches another person’s skin during the hug. In most cases, herpes outbreaks occur on the mouth (most often with HSV-1, the virus that causes cold sores) or on the genitals (most often with HSV-2, the virus that most often causes genital herpes). Anderson, M.D said that “Herpes gladiatorum is a skin infection caused by herpes simplex virus, which causes a rash usually on the head, face, neck, shoulders, arms or trunk. Sometimes the eyes may become infected.” (1) Dr. Anderson is with the South Dakota Department of Health. Dr. Mark Dworkin, MD said that “Skin contact is the primary mode of HSV-1 transmission.” (1) Dr. Dworkin is a medical epidemiologist with the CDC.

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) therefore recommends that individuals who are infected with the herpes virus take Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin.
