Concurrent Technologies Corporation Recognized as a 2016 Best for Vets Employer by Military Times
JOHNSTOWN, Pa., March 21, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For the sixth time, Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) has been recognized as a company that is a good fit for military veterans, reservists, and their families. Military Times has named CTC to its 2016 "Best for Vets" Employer list.
Military Times (comprised of Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times, and Marine Corps Times) evaluated company culture and policies that cater to military veterans when conducting and ranking companies on the 2016 list. Companies from across the U.S. completed the highly-respected, 90-question survey about their efforts to connect with veterans and provide an environment for success. Only 75 companies were chosen for the 2016 list, and CTC ranked at number 22, rising three spots from last year.
"CTC's workforce is comprised of exceptional employees that are dedicated to providing high quality, innovative solutions for our clients," said Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., President & Chief Executive Officer. "Many of those employees are current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces. They gained unique knowledge, experience, and leadership skills while serving our country, and they are an important part of our team."
During the past year, 22% of new hires were veterans, and vets make up 14% of the company's workforce. In addition to being recognized as a Military Times Best for Vets Employer, the company has also received numerous awards from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), including the Extraordinary Employer Support Award, Above and Beyond Award, the Liberty Bell Award, the Patriot Award, the Pro-Patria Award, and the Seven Seals Award. CTC was recently a semi-finalist for the ESGR Freedom Award. CTC is also a member of the Veteran Jobs Mission (formerly the 100,000 Jobs Mission), a coalition of over 200 companies committed to hiring one million Veterans for private-sector jobs. As of December 31, 2015, over 314,000 Veterans had been hired.
