SPOKANE, WA, USA, March 18, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Award Winning Composer and Pianist Transports Listeners to ElysianSpokane, WA (March 18, 2016) Malaysian-born pianist and composer Lynn Yew Evers hosted a very special Listening Party in the Hemmingson Center at Gonzaga University to celebrate the release of her new album, Elysian, her third studio album. Also in attendance were several local musicians - Clara Mannino (flute), Claire Arensmeyer (English Horn and Oboe), Kathleen Czoski (cello), and Harmony Young (double bass), who joined Lynn in LIVE performances of selections from the new release.
About Lynn Yew Evers: Lynn was born in the scenic, colonial city of Ipoh, in northwest Malaysia. Showing an early gift for music (she has perfect pitch), she started playing the piano when she was six and by the age of nine, she was already composing her own songs. Lynn would go on to study and earn her degree at Trinity College of Music in London. Upon returning home, she was much in demand as a performer, composer and arranger. Her gifts would eventually win her national recognition and Lynn was called upon to perform for the King and Queen of Malaysia, as well as other dignitaries at state functions.
Since her coming to America in 2009, Lynn has been active as a teacher and accompanist, all the while composing and creating and performing her own special music. Elysian is Lynn’s third album, following her EP Without Words (2015), featuring Denika Kleinmann on cello and Jill Cathey on English horn, Dawn of Peace (2012), also produced by Will Ackerman and her debut recording in the US, The Falling Leaves (2010).
About Elysian: Elysian represents a major step forward in Lynn’s development as a recording artist and composer. Lynn’s sensitive piano playing and soaring melodies are beautifully framed by her intimate, acoustic arrangements performed by multi-award-winning artists Eugene Friesen (cello), Wouter Kellerman (flute), Charlie Bisharat (violin), Thomas Eaton (bass), and Jill Haley (English Horn), together with legendary artists NS Bass player Tony Levin, Premik (soprano saxophone), Jordan Buetow (alto recorder), the haunting vocals of Noah Wilding and legendary guitarist and founder of Windham Hill Records, Will Ackerman, who also produced the album at his Imaginary Road Studios, Vermont.
Elysian is distributed by CPI Clay Pasternack and New Leaf Distribution and is available on Amazon.com, iTunes and many other retail shops.
