Nuuk Arctic Winter Games a Great Success for Team Alberta North

/EINPresswire.com/ -- Team Alberta North snowboarders ages 13 to 19 traveled to the Arctic Winter Games held in Nuuk, Greenland from March 5 to 12, achieving a total of 22 medals. Riders received an experience of a life time learning about the Greenlandic culture on top of achieving the most snowboarding medals and dominating the female podiums in competition.

Sarah Payzant, a coach for Team Alberta North, was very proud of her riders, "It was great as a coach to see athletes that previously attended the games two years ago in Fairbanks, Alaska compete in Nuuk and watch how much they have improved. It is also outstanding knowing that they are still enjoying and excelling the sport two years later."

The athletes also built lasting friendships on their journey, "I was very pleased and excited about the way that all the athletes got a long with each other on the trip as well as mingled and met new friends from different contingents." Below is a list of the results.
