Antigua and Barbuda provides full day of sessions and activities for the travel and tourism trade

Antigua & Barbuda- The Beach is just the beginning

ST. JOHN'S, ANTIGUA, January 19, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Showcase Antigua and Barbuda attracts over 50 major tour operators from North America, Europe and the United Kingdom, providing an amazing opportunity for tour operators worldwide to converge, discuss business partnerships directly with hotel owners from the region.

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority with the Antigua Hotels and Tourist Association is hosting the third annual “Showcase Antigua Barbuda,” on Saturday, May 21, 2016, in St. John’s, Antigua, with registration and welcome reception on May 20. This is following upon the previous two successful years for the travel industry business-to-business event. The Antigua Barbuda Showcase is an intensive meeting and informational event for wholesalers and tour operators from around the world to meet with regional suppliers of the North Leewards Islands tourism industry. In addition to featuring local suppliers from Antigua and Barbuda, the event will include suppliers from Dominica, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, St. Barthelemy, St. Kitts and Nevis.

The logistics of the showcase are simple: participants will receive a directory including marketing profiles and product information on all participating buyers and suppliers, along with appointment request forms. Once received, suppliers and delegates should review the information and request appointments with those buyers and companies they wish to meet. As appointments are only scheduled through buyer requests and matches, suppliers are encouraged to make contact with buyers they are interested in meeting beforehand. Appointments may also be scheduled on site.

In addition to meetings, suppliers are given the opportunity to share their information with all of the participants through registering for booths, with both single and double tabletop registration available. Registration includes delegate registration, tabletop and signage, listing in the directory, appointments and attendance to all food and social functions by delegates.

The main focus of the Showcase is to schedule important face-to-face meetings between buyers and suppliers, therefore, everyone is encouraged to register as soon as possible so as to begin communications beforehand. Special Antigua Barbuda Showcase rates are available at local hotels for participants.

ABOUT ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA

Antigua (pronounced An-tee'ga) and Barbuda (Bar-byew’da) is located in the heart of the Caribbean Sea. The largest of the Leeward Islands, Antigua&Barbuda comprises 108-square miles. The 365 white and pink sand beaches, one for every day of the year, are just the beginning of the treasures that await visitors. Antigua’s rich history and spectacular topography provide a variety of popular sightseeing opportunities. Nelson’s Dockyard, the only remaining example of a Georgian fort commissioned by the British in 1755, is perhaps the most renowned landmark. Betty’s Hope, built in 1674, is the site of one of the first full-scale sugar plantations on Antigua, and offers a chance to step back into time by visiting the restored mills. Another unique attraction is Devil’s Bridge, located at the eastern tip of the island in Indian Town National Park, where Atlantic breakers have carved out a natural limestone arch. Antigua boasts a varied tourism calendar including events such as the World Class Antigua Sailing Week, Classic Yacht Regatta, Antigua Sports Fishing and also the annual Carnival; known as the Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival. Island accommodation ranges from luxury, boutique resorts and all-inclusive hotels to smaller more intimate boutique guesthouses and cottages.
