/EINPresswire.com/ -- LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - December 15, 2015) - On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, UDR, Steinberg Architects, Swinerton Builders, and hundreds of construction workers celebrated the topping-out of the UDR owned and developed 3033 Wilshire Apartments project. Located on the corner of Virgil and Wilshire in Koreatown, once complete the 18-story apartment tower -- with four levels of above-grade parking -- will provide 190 residential units to the area. This ceremony represents a critical milestone on the project, which has already served the local community with the creation of more than 574 construction jobs on the project.

California Assembly Member Miguel Santiago addressed the crowd of construction workers and guests, praising the project for creating much needed housing and jobs for the area. Additional special guests included Assembly Member of the 53rd District of California Miguel Santiago; Los Angeles City Council Fourth District Senior Deputy Nikki Ezhari; Los Angeles Wilshire Center/Koreatown Neighborhood Council President Scott Suh; Los Angeles Rampart Village Neighborhood Council Secretary Jennifer Abrillo; UDR Vice President Brad Hodack; UDR Senior Construction Manager Ken Cheung; Steinberg Architects President David Hart; Steinberg Architects Los Angeles Managing Principal Bob Lavey; Swinerton Builders Vice President and Orange County and Los Angeles Division Manager Dave Callis; and Swinerton Builders Vice President of Operations for Orange County and Los Angeles Ray Haj.

Swinerton Builders is serving as the general contractor and is also self-performing concrete on this new high-rise project. After the event, Swinerton Builders Project Manager Kevin Hermreck shared, "The ceremony here at 3033 Wilshire is the culmination of months of hard work from our project team and scores of tradespeople. This has been a great opportunity to pause and celebrate the great work completed to date, and look ahead to the successful completion of the project."
