Morocco a Key Partner For France In The Fight Against Terrorism

HM King Mohammed VI was received on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Elysee Palace in Paris, by French President Francois Hollande.
During this audience, the two heads of State voiced the shared determination of France and Morocco to fight terrorism and radicalization together and endeavor to settle regional and international crises.
The President of the French Republic expressed his thanks to HM King Mohammed VI for the efficient assistance provided by Morocco following last Friday’s attack in Paris.
In addition, two months after Tangier’s Call, signed during the working and friendship visit of the French President to Morocco, the two Heads of State reaffirmed their full mobilization for the preservation of the planet and the success of COP-21 in Paris and COP-22 in Morocco in 2016.
Finally, the French President and HM the King hailed the vitality of exceptional French-Moroccan partnership and its ability to renew itself to address common challenges.
Reacting to this audience, French MP Jacques Myard on Friday hailed the efficient cooperation between Morocco and France in the fight against terrorism.
For his part, French Senator and chairman of the French-Morocco friendship group in the Senate, Christian Cambon highlighted the importance of collaboration between Moroccan and French security services, expressing France’ gratitude to the Kingdom for this valuable cooperation.
For recall, French police sources revealed Friday that Moroccan intelligence helped track down Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the Islamic State jihadist suspected of orchestrating the 13 November Paris attacks. A Moroccan tip-off, along with other information, led police to an apartment block in the Saint Denis district, north of Paris.
