Cities at the Speed of Light: See London and Paris Like Never Before in Striking New Hyperlapse Videos
Esteemed Time-Lapse Photographer Paul Richardson Reveals Secrets Behind Process That Involved 30,000 Beautiful Photographs, a Steady Hand and Hours Of Painstaking Dedication
/EINPresswire.com/ -- LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM and PARIS, FRANCE -- (Marketwired) -- 10/23/15 -- Acclaimed time-lapse photographer Paul Richardson has perfectly captured the urban buzz of both London and Paris in a pair of new hyperlapse videos, which were created in collaboration with Marriott International, to give a real view of the vibrant culture and flow of both cities.
The project showcases the atmosphere of Europe's most popular capital cities in a way static imagery and typical short-form videos cannot. Each clip is 1:20 long and comprises over 30,000 animated photographs, taking viewers on a whirlwind journey to such recognisable sights as Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, the Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur and more.
"Our aim was to reveal the heart of both of these capitals and stir up a natural sense of wanderlust in viewers," said Frederic Schaub, Global Sites SEO Manager for Marriott International. "We wanted people to get a feel for each city in just over a minute, by showing points of view from the rooftops of some of our hotels in these two beautiful destinations."
You can watch both the London and Paris videos on YouTube now, and experience each city like never before.
Each video was further brought to life with atmospheric music composed by Dutch composer Renger Koning, together with countless artistic processes executed with precision by Paul. Each of the 30,000 photographs were captured using a Canon 6D camera, along with special equipment used for the smooth pans and sliding movements.
Paul revealed a few of the secrets behind his technique: "The longer moves were achieved through a technique called 'hyperlapse'. This is achieved by putting the camera on a tripod, and then physically moving the whole unit after each photo. You focus on a point (typically a building) and make sure the camera is aligned on it after each shot."
