Iberdrola boosts commitment to regional suppliers in Cáceres
Iberdrola reinforced its commitment to its suppliers in Extremadura at a meeting held this morning at the headquarters of the Cáceres Chamber of Commerce, where it once again reaffirmed its support for the business sector in all of the regions where it has operations. The group is a driving force for innovation, quality, transparency and job creation.
The Director-General of the Cáceres Chamber of Commerce, Jorge Prieto, and IBERDROLA's Regional Manager in Extremadura, David Martin, inaugurated this seminar titled Avanzamos juntos (Advancing Together). Also in attendance were Alberto Bermejo, from the Promotion and Coordination Department of the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI); Agustín Delgado, Director of Innovation, Sustainability and Quality in the IBERDROLA Group; Ana Alcalde, Head of Purchases and Insurance in IBERDROLA España; and María José Palacín, Head of Suppliers for the group.
This initiative by Iberdrola focused on two issues: presenting a pioneering Innovation with Suppliers programme, which is geared towards promoting and speeding up the development of new products and services to meet the company's future needs and rise to the challenges faced by the sector; and explaining the basic pillars on which the company's relationship with its suppliers is built, i.e. objectivity, transparency, impartiality, equal opportunities, value creation and risk and opportunity management.
Two of Iberdrola's suppliers in this region, the companies Invaex Ingeniería y Montajes Extremeños and Seycex Ingeniería, gave presentations and talked about their experiences when working with the company.
Pull effect on business sector
As proof of Iberdrola's commitment to its suppliers, it is important to note that last year alone, the company's purchases for its main energy projects from some 170 suppliers in the Extremadura Region were worth about €5 million. Once again, this confirms its pivotal role as a company that exerts a crucial pull effect on the entire business sector in the region.
Iberdrola's international prestige is largely due to the hard work, commitment and transparency of its suppliers. The company appreciates their effort and is committed to advancing together to successfully complete all its plans in the energy sector.
