Savannah River Site Awards Small Business Contract to S&L Logistics

Aiken, SC (September 3, 2015)  --The Department of Energy’s Savannah River Operations Office awarded a $12.8 million, fixed-price, contract to S&L Logistics LLC of St. Ignatius, Montana. The contract is for project scheduling and cost estimating support services at the Savannah River Site. The contract term has a one-year base period and four, one-year option periods.

S&L Logistics LLC, of St. Ignatius, Montana, is a tribally-owned firm of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Nation in northwestern Montana. This contract was awarded through the Small Business Administration Section 8(a) program.

The Savannah River Site (SRS) is a key DOE industrial complex dedicated to; environmental cleanup, nuclear weapons stockpile stewardship, and nuclear materials disposition, in support of the U.S. nuclear non-proliferation efforts. The site also develops and deploys technologies to support radiological and chemical cleanup activities following approximately 50 years of producing materials used for nuclear weapons, primarily plutonium and tritium.
