DOE Releases Request for Information for Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant Deactivation & Remediation Services
Cincinnati -- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking to solicit input via capability statements from interested parties with the specialized capabilities necessary to meet the requirements of the Draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant Deactivation & Remediation project. Within these capability statements, DOE is seeking feedback from contractors and other interested parties regarding options for innovative approaches for the performance of the attached Draft PWS as well as insight into potential contracting alternatives. This market research will assist DOE with identifying interested and capable sources and developing its acquisition strategy. Key market research goals include identifying and minimizing barriers to competition, evaluating small business capabilities, identifying risks, identifying potential requirements definition and contract alternatives, and identifying appropriate terms and conditions.
The deactivation and remediation services anticipated to be provided under this acquisition include, but are not limited to: Emergency Management, Fire Protection & COOP Programs; Security Program, Nuclear Materials Control and Accountability (NMC&A), and Protective Force Services; Utilities and Maintenance; Analytical Laboratory Services; On-Site Waste Disposal Facility (OSWDF); Deposit Removal, Facility Stabilization/Isolation, Tc-99 Thermal Treatment; Facility D&D; Groundwater Remediation; Surface Water and Soils Remediation; Burial Grounds Remediation; Environmental Monitoring and Reporting; and Waste Operations.
